SXSW Interview Series – Jen Wojcik of Pinqued

For this next SXSW video Interview I managed to grab Jen Wojcik, sit her down and chat with her a bit during the TechKaraoke event at SXSW which my company, Awareness, Inc. sponsored. Jen is the co-founder along with Kate Buck of the interactive event planning company,Pinqued. Partnering with the TechKaraoke founder, Brett Petersel, Jen and Kate put on a fantastic event at SXSW which included both traditional karaoke and my absolute favorite, live-band karaoke!

Despite the fact that I completely lost my voice during the conference, I did manage to sing with the help of my pal, Margot Bloomstein, who carried the vocals as we belted out The Violent Femmes “Blister in the Sun” with the live band. Not sure how great we sounded, but it was pretty awesome to have the fans blowing our hair in true “80’s big hair” fashion. Hey, I felt like a rock star for a good 3 minutes!

So, here is the video with Jen where I found out a bit more about her company Pinqued why she colored her hair pink.

I am getting really excited for the next NHTweetUp event – The #RetroTechUp taking place on 2/18 at RedHook Ale Brewery in Portsmouth, NH. SXSW 2009 In Two Words

As originally posted on the PerkettPRsuasion blog and inspired by Steve Garfield’s video montage “27 People, One Question” I thought it would be fun to do something similar during my trip to SXSW Interactive. Throughout my time there, I had some lighthearted fun with attendees and asked 25 people to give me two words that describe their experience at the event. Some of the responses, both serious and entertaining, came from folks like Jeff Pulver, Chris Brogan, Justin Levy, Jeremiah Owyang, Robert Scoble, Jason Falls, Aaron Strout, and many others. Using my handy Kodak Zi6 HD camera I captured some great footage that hopefully encapsulates what SXSW Interactive is all about and in some cases, just made me go “huh?”

So without further ado, for your viewing pleasure check out what some of this year’s SXSW Interactive attendees had to say for themselves. I am sure you will recognize a few of your friends and hopefully have a few laughs along the way.

Disclaimer: The video quality and lighting varies slightly due to the ‘extreme’ shooting conditions of SXSW.

Translation: This was my first attempt and I didn’t lug around all the lighting and sound equipment with me for these impromptu shots, so some responses were a little more difficult to see/hear, but you get the point.
